Description
Created in 1819 by the Count of Montalivet, Minister of the Interior and great friend of Napoleon Bonaparte, Château de Thauvenay is today a reference for Sancerre wines. This year, we are proud to welcome you and to let you discover our wines and our passion for winemaking. Get on board for a visit in 4 acts: let us tell you the history of the vineyard since 1819. Then, escape to the vineyard of the Château de Thauvenay, offering an incredible view of the Sancerre hills. Then go and discover the underground cellars dug in the Gallo-Roman era. You will then be in the best conditions to taste our Sancerre and Saumur wines accompanied by the very famous “Crottin de Chavignol”. At the Chapelle du Château de Thauvenay, Sancerre wine takes on its full meaning!
