Description
The 2017 vintage gave us our first above average rainfall in Paso Robles since 2011, and along with it came a rapid return to balance and nuance over intensity and tannin. This return to grace is no more evident than in our Grenache led Mad Crush. Sweet aromas of brown sugar, leather, and a sharp cranberry ripeness leap forward followed by more savory notes of ribeye steak and prosciutto with a twist of dried coriander and lentils. Confectionary notes of blueberry tart, caramel, and vanilla add a flare of complexity to an otherwise unassuming wine. The palate boasts a host of fresh fruits, agua fresca style; Strawberries, cranberries, and cherries coalesce into a flavorful entry that lingers at the tip of the palate before expanding into a broad and tannin rich mid palate with flavors of Manchego, cedar, and fresh leather. The wine finishes with silky smooth and juicy with gushing and long lasting flavors.
