Description
Confronto translates to “comparison”. Collefrisio compares the two most interesting grapes of the southern part of Italy: Montepulciano and Primitivo. In this wine the two grapes really express at its best, with a nice combination of the fruitness of the Primitivo with the spiciness of the Montepulciano. It is also a comparison between the traditional style of wines with a modern approach to wine making. A blend of 50% Montepulciano and 50% Primitivo. Third-generation winemakers Amedeo De Luca and Antonio Patricelli created the Collefrisio winery in 2004 in the hills of Frisa, Chieti Province, in Italy’s Abruzzo region. The estate is based on the hilltop holdings they acquired from the Frisio family (hence the name “Collefrisio”). Vineyard holdings are 35 hectares in total, and all farming is organic.
