Forty minutes south of Monterey, California, the Santa Lucia Highlands is well-known as the perfect home for Pinot Noir. With delicate skins, this varietal thrives in a more moderate environment, with temperatures cooled by breezes blowing off of Monterey Bay. Slow ripening of the grapes enables us to make wine of heightened complexity, with layers of aromas and flavors including fresh berry basket, vanilla and toasted oak.
Plum tarte, cherries, forest bottom, and graphite aromas with flavors of plum, cherry tarte, hint of cranberry, brown spice and a touch of nutmeg. This wine is nuanced, refined and layered, with a distinctive freshness and pure berry basket fruit flavors.
Pairs well with salted baked chicken with pureed potatoes.
