Winemaker Notes
Fog Theory is a quality, cool-climate Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara. 2013 marks the inaugural vintage of this brand. The Pacific Ocean’s foggy marine layer and the cool ocean breezes that sweep through the vineyards create an ideal environment for growing Pinot Noir. The name Fog Theory is based on the important fog that rolls in from the Pacific Ocean through and east-west mountain range corridor, an unusual break in California’s north-south running coastal range. It is the cool air the fog produces that provides the perfect climate for Pinot Noir. This Pinot Noir is exemplificative of its cool growing region and exhibits the highest quality standard from cultivation to vinification. The winemaker allows the terroir to shine through so the Pinot Noir wine is an authentic expression of the site on which it is grown.
