Wine Spectator– Plush and rich-tasting, with finely interwoven flavors of dark cherry, plum tart and blackberry accented by cocoa powder notes.
2015
Wine Enthusiast– Blended with 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, this wine is thick, dense and dusty in tannin. Flavors of mocha, cherry and clove dominate on the well-integrated, full-bodied palate, finishing in dried herb and coffee bean.
2016
James Suckling- This wine offers aromas of dark fruit, baking spices and soil. Medium to full body with slightly austere tannins, yet fresh and vibrant on the finish. Outstanding, flavorful and focused. A blend of 77% merlot and 22% cabernet sauvignon with malbec and petit verdot. Drink or hold.
2017
James Suckling- A nicely crafted 2017 red with berries, plums and hints of dark chocolate on the nose and palate. Medium body, creamy tannins and a savory finish. Pretty fruit at the end. Drink or hold.
2018
Wilfred Wong- The 2018 Duckhorn Vineyards Merlot is packed, elevated, and substantive on the palate. TASTING NOTES; This wine shows up with power in its aromas and flavors of black fruit, licorice, and oak. Try it with a juicy Himalayan salt and black pepper-accented, grilled ribeye.
