Day 3 – Sunday, May 24: Volos & Argyreiika

  • Breakfast at Domotel Xenia Volos City Resort.
  • Enjoy the waterfront tavernas and shopping. The town of Makrinitsa is not far away, and the city of Portaria is nearby. The restaurant Kritsa Taverna in Portaria is an excellent spot for lunch. You might want to book an excursion with a local guide. Tours by locals is a fantastic website for booking an excursion for a few or many.

Day 5 – Tuesday, May 26: Skiathos Wine & Beach

  • Breakfast at Alkyon Hotel.

  • Lunch at Big Bad Wolf (beachside).
  • Afternoon at leisure; beach option.
  • Dinner on your own; Perry provides a stipend.
  • Nightlife and live music are available.
  • Greece is notorious for large lunches. Please pace yourself. The restaurant is by the beach, so you may waddle down and enjoy the beautiful blue waters of the Aegean Sea. In Greece, everything at the beach is there for you: chairs, umbrellas, drinks, and food for a price. You can take the bus back to the hotel if you are not a beach person or hang out on the beach and take an inexpensive taxi or the local bus back. This beach is unusual because it has black swans. Please don’t mess with them; they only bite tourists. There are taxi and bus pickup locations near the beach. Alex, Leighann, and I can help you with that. Dinner is on your own that evening; there are plenty of places to enjoy a meal and drinks. Perry will give you a stipend for food that evening; do what you want with it if you are too full to put another morsel in your mouth, buy a souvenir. This island is known for its nightlife, and the live music and dancing are always fun.

Day 6 – Wednesday, May 27: Skiathos to Volos & Tsililis Winery

  • Return to hotel for downtime and dinner (location TBD).
  • Meteora location is breathtaking. The James Bond movie filmed in Meteora, Greece, was For Your Eyes Only, released in 1981, starring Roger Moore as 007; the iconic Monastery of the Holy Trinity (Agia Triada) served as the villain’s hideout, featuring Bond’s thrilling cliffside ascent to it.
