Wine Cruise through Greece aboard the Celebrity Infinity
Sail with Two Legendary Wine Families, Rossello Family Winery in Piedmont, Italy, and The Cline Family
The Cline Family – Cline Family Cellars (Sonoma, California)
Fred and Nancy Cline are pioneers of sustainable winemaking in Sonoma County and among the most respected family names in American wine.
Cline Family Cellars was founded in 1982 by Fred Cline, who comes from a deep California agricultural lineage. His ancestors settled in California in the late 1800s, and Fred is a seventh-generation Californian. That long agricultural heritage shaped his philosophy: farming must respect the land to endure.
Fred was an early champion of Rhône varietals in California—particularly Syrah, Viognier, Mourvèdre, and Grenache—at a time when they were still considered unconventional. Under Fred and Nancy’s leadership, Cline became known not only for bold, expressive wines but also for groundbreaking environmental stewardship.
Sustainability Leadership
Cline Family Cellars is widely recognized as an industry leader in sustainability, long before it became fashionable:
- One of the first wineries to operate on 100% solar power
- Advanced water recycling and conservation systems
- Certified California Sustainable Winegrowing
- Extensive wildlife habitat restoration and sheep grazing for vineyard management
Nancy Cline has played a central role in shaping the winery’s guest experience, hospitality, and brand identity, helping make Cline one of Sonoma’s most visited and beloved wineries.
Today, Cline Family Cellars remains family-owned, producing wines that reflect both innovation and respect for tradition—values Fred and Nancy personally bring to their hosted wine journeys.
The Rossello Family – Rossello Winery (Piedmont, Italy)
Giulio Rossello represents the soul of Piedmontese winemaking, rooted in tradition, terroir, and generational craftsmanship.
Based in Piedmont, Italy, one of the world’s most revered wine regions, the Rossello family has long been dedicated to producing wines that express the character of the land—particularly from classic northern Italian varietals. Their approach emphasizes:
Small-production winemaking
Respect for traditional methods
Minimal intervention to let the vineyard speak
Giulio Rossello continues this legacy, bridging old-world tradition with modern precision. His philosophy centers on preserving the authenticity of Piedmont wines while ensuring quality and consistency for today’s wine lovers.
Piedmont is famous for iconic wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto, Barbera, and Nebbiolo, and the Rossello family’s work reflects the patience and discipline required to produce wines of structure, elegance, and aging potential.
For Giulio, wine is inseparable from culture—meals, family, conversation, and place. Hosting guests allows him to share not just the wines themselves, but the stories, traditions, and rhythms of life in Piedmont.
