The days are getting a little longer and the temperature is
rising. The birds are chirping and the bees are
buzzing. This can only mean one thing, spring is here!
While many wine drinkers may prefer red wines, nothing hits
the spot like a refreshing white wine on those warm spring
afternoons. Here at Ed's Fine Wines we've selected a
few of the wines we turn to when the mercury starts to rise.
Nora Albariño$14.99(Reg. 16.99)
89pts -Wine
Spectator, 90pts -Stephen Tanzer Nothing
screams refreshing like an Albariño.
This little beauty comes to from the folks at Jorge
Ordonez Importers. These guys always pick out
awesome wines and this one is no exception. If
the aromas of ripe apples, candied orange, melons
and peaches don't draw you in, the rich silky
mouthfeel will.
Carl Roy Sauvignon
Blanc$16.99(Reg. 19.99) Exotic
flavors right in our own backyard. The aromas
coming out of this wine will really impress you.
Grapefruit, guava and melon? This wine must be
from New Zealand, but no it is from, of all places,
Napa Valley. Try this one and you'll be back
for more!
Ménage
a Trois White Wine$9.99(Reg. 13.99) Chardonnay,
Moscato and Chenin Blanc got together and had a
little fun and as it turns out, make the perfect
threesome! Ménage à Trois white is a trip to
the islands without the worry of sunburn or bugs.
It’s undeniably fruity and smooth. Citrus and
tropical fruit flavors with crisp acidity. Dare we
say it’s refreshing? With food or without, alone or
with two companions, this is one of the most
exhilarating experiences imaginable.
Matua Marlborough
Sauvignon Blanc$11.99(Reg. 14.99) Oh my
goodness! The "kiwis" from New Zealand have
out done themselves! The palate is filled with
tight passion fruit, melon and lemon fruit. This is
all kept in check by the distinctive and chalky
Marlborough acidity. You gotta try this!
Zonin Special Cuvee
Brut Prosecco$12.99(Reg. 14.99) What a great
deal! Prosecco is to Italy what Champagne is to
France. It is lighter and more refreshing than
its French counter part. Here at the store we
love prosecco. It is a versatile wine that
works well as a pre-dinner aperitif or an after
dinner palate cleanser. If you haven't tried
it before than your missing out.
